DIY: No-Sew Tulle Skirt
Making a skirt can be a fun little project to do alongside your daughter, or even just for yourself if you’re so inclined. They can make for beautiful additions to your apparel with tulle fabric's lightweight nature and attractive appearance. But sewing can be a messy and painful affair, so why bother breaking out the needle out at all when you can make a fantastic skirt without a single thread? In just a few simple steps you can learn how to make your own tulle skirt without an inch of stitching and just some of IdeaRibbon's Tulle Fabric.
- Determine what size skirt you’re going to want to make and then grab the appropriately sized tulle, along with a similarly colored ½ thick ribbon to wrap around your waist.
- Cut out strips of tulle with a pair of scissors. How thick and fluffy you want your tulle to be will determine how big the cuts are, but a good size is between 2-4 inches wide.
- Start folding the strips of tulle over the ribbon, then wrap the ends opposite from the loop, and around and through the loop to create a classic hacking knot.
- Repeat step 3 until only 1 foot of ribbon remains clear on each end, so you’ll be able to tie the ribbon around your waist.
There you have it! Only a few simple steps and you can have your own quality skirt at no charge to yourself and without a single stitch.
